Woman Has Scary Encounter With Florida Panther
A woman taking an early morning nature walk at a sanctuary in Florida suddenly found herself face to face with a fast approaching Florida panther on a boardwalk. Tina Dorschel managed to keep the video rolling when she saw the animal approaching in the distance. Somehow she had to presence of mind to keep the camera focused on the endangered Florida panther as it passed by her. Ms. Dorschel posted the video on social media and rather unsurprisingly the video went viral.
Panther was afraid
The Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is located in South-West Florida and is spread across 17 square miles of wetland and features a 1.9-mile boardwalk. It is not known just how far along the boardwalk Ms. Dorschel was, however what is known was that she was far enough along to be unable to seek protection.
“This gorgeous Florida panther seems to have unexpectedly found himself cornered while traveling around a corner on the boardwalk—and quickly sped up to get away,” the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary wrote on its Facebook page. “Panthers are shy creatures and this kind of encounter was a lucky and extremely rare experience.”
