Humpback Whale Breaches Right Next To Tour Boat

Whale watchers on a boat trip of the Alaskan coast were surprised by a humpback whale that decided to breach right next to where their boat was sailing, soaking everyone in the process. One of the members of the tour group was lucky enough to capture the whole encounter on video and posted it to social media. The incident took place during an excursion organised by TAZ Whale Watching. If you check out the video you will be truly amazed and probably jealous of just how close the tour group got to the whale.

Just a metre away

Fortunately no one was injured during the encounter which took place whilst the boat was cruising near Pleasant Island. The footage shows the massive humpback whale breaching literally a metre or two away from the front of the boat and then crashing back down into the water again. The whale’s acrobatics ends up sending a huge quantity of water as wave on to the boat, drenching everyone that was on board. The tourists can be heard howling with laughter at their close encounter and certainly got more than their money’s worth from the trip.
