Check Out This Video Of Lion Caught In A Snare Trap Being Rescued
A young lion in Zimbabwe that was caught in a snare trap found itself as the centre of attention of a crowd that continued to grow which hindered initial rescue efforts by vets from a charity last week. People living in the township of Kariba started reporting that they heard the roars of a lion emanating from a house and as they waited for assistance the crowd grew to about 1,000. The video shows vets from Aware Trust Zimbabwe trying to get the lion sedated. That was not an easy task fortunately with a little luck the Keith Dutlow one of the vets was able to get a clear shot and immobilise the lion.
The scene drew huge crowds
However, with the crowd so large, they were making so much noise the vets had the problem of keeping the lion anaesthetised because of overstimulation created by the scene. Finally, the vets were able to unable untangle the snare from tree and carried the lion to a vehicle nearby where they checked its condition and took an X-ray which fortunately revealed no broken bones. The rescuers released the lion back into the wild under the impression that the lion had not suffered any serious injury.
