Check Out This Video Of Rare Albino Gray Whale
A rare albino gray whale was spotted swimming off the coast of Mexico. Albino whales are almost never seen so it is fortunate that someone managed to capture the sighting on video, footage of which was released by the Mexican government. The whale has been nicknamed “Gallon of Milk” and astonishingly enough this is not the first sighting.
Not the first time
The whale was first seen in 2008 when she was just a calf. Scientists have been studying the gray whale population in the region for over two decades. Researchers have been monitoring reproductivity to ensure that the population is healthy and continues to grow. They regularly conduct census to see which families the whales belong to. This time round, Gallon of Milk was spotted with a calf of her own and rather unsurprisingly, scientists are keen to document both the mother and her calf.
