Check Out This Dude Sharing His Water With A King Cobra

Now this is something you don’t see every day and you definitely don’t want to try this at home. This video shows a massive king cobra that had been captured and seems to be drinking directly from a man’s water bottle. The reason for the behaviour is because there is extreme drought across Southern India. The king cobra is extremely venomous and the video shows the reptile turning its head towards the person holding the bottle who cautiously pours water in to its mouth whilst holding a hook near its head so that they can respond if the snake turns on them.
Not the only video
This particular video comes from a village in Southern India. There was a similar video uploaded to YouTube back in 2014 of a man also sharing his drink with another cobra, but no one knows where that video was shot. King cobras can grow up to 18 feet in length according to the Smithsonian National Zoo. Whilst they are considered aggressive, they tend to only attack humans when they are protecting their eggs or they feel cornered. The zoo’s website says that whilst they are present across a range of countries from India to Indonesia, the king cobra causes less than 5 human deaths per year. To put that into context, that’s about one-fifth of deaths caused by rattle snakes in North America.
