New Rare Fawns Born at Port Lympne Park
Keepers at the Aspinall Foundation Port Lympne Park were delighted to see 6 new Barasingha fawns which will join the herd of 22 at the park. The rare animals, also known as Swamp Deer, were born in the park at the beginning of July 2011, and are creating quite stir with recent visitors to the park. Currently on the endangered species ‘Vulnerable’ list, their total numbers may be as few as 3500, so the latest arrivals have been warmly received by both staff and visitors at the park.
