Recently Discovery Channel’s Shark Week which we all know and love unveiled an amazing photo of a 14 and a half foot great white shark getting rather too close to a cameraman. The man in question, David Riggs is seen holding his camera in the photo which appears to show the great white about to attack.
Who says pacifiers are only for human babies? puppies don’t speak actual words, they have no table manners and, if they’re anything like this baby Boxer, they love their pacifiers just like a human baby would. This little puppy falls asleep each night with her pacifier firmly stuck in her mouth and it is completely adorable. The eight month old boxer is called Princess Leia and just like any newborn is completely addicted to her binkie.
Watch this amazing video of two swans that amazingly enough got tangled with one another and were then saved from this unusual situation after they approached a couple of people on the river bank for help. After being untangled the first swan seems relatively unscathed and just wanders off without any apparent injury.
Many animals come to be associated with specific personality traits. For example the fox is said to be sly, whilst dogs are considered loyal and cats are thought to be clever. The trait that is most associated with otters is love. In fact these cute critters are so loving that in some countries they are a symbol of Valentine’s Day.
These red pandas certainly know how to make the most of unseasonably cold weather that hit the United States last month. Lisa Browning who works as an animal handler at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden shot footage of two very cute red panda’s messing about in the snow following a recent snowfall. Lin aged 2 and Rover aged 9 can be seen swinging, jumping and running in the frost covered trees in this adorable video which is about a minute long. According to the Zoo’s website, red pandas are able to maintain warm body temperatures in cold weather because of their thick tails which they wrap around their bodies.
Compared to human beings, hippos are much cooler than people are when they are three days old. Come to think of it, hippos are actually cooler than humans for the rest of their lives as well. Remember when you were three days old? Probably not, but it’s not a hard assumption to make that you cried a lot whilst being passed amongst relatives in between naps. This particular hippo was born at the end of last month at the San Diego Zoo seems to be having an awful lot of fun swimming around at its pool party with his mum. Check out the video above.
If you need to visit the hospital for a check up, then it’s time to stop acting like a baby. Watch this video of a lovely baby girl giving her pit bull terrier a full check up and you’ll be embarrassed you’ve been procrastinating. The pit bull doesn’t even flinch when he gets given a shot. Manuel Ruiz Villarreal shot this video of his baby girl Noa playing doctor with the family dog Neckar. You can see in the video just how patient Neckar is with the lovely little munchkin as she gives him the once over. Noa is incredibly thorough, giving Neckar his shots, listening to his heart beat and taking a good look in his ears.
If you are having a bad day then you should take a look at the above video. The video was shot at the Royal Elephant Kraal & Village in Thailand. The video is of a lovely baby elephant called ‘Double Trouble’ who most certainly lives up to his name as he causes all sorts of mayhem whilst being given a bath. This little fella is being hosed down by a tourist and adorably falls in and out of his tiny tub whilst splashing water everywhere. He is probably the happiest elephant ever to take a bath and at one point almost drags a little girl in with him by yanking the garden hose away from her. It’s a great video, guaranteed to put a smile on your face for the rest of the day.
If you are a dog lover than you have probably long suspected that man’s best friend can tell whether you are angry or happy just by looking at your face. If you believed this to be the case, the science is now backing you up. Researchers in Vienna trained a number of dogs to differentiate between happy or angry faces through a reward system. In subsequent tests, the researchers showed the dogs an image of a human face they had previously never seen and the dogs were able to spot the difference between expressions.
After decades of mistreatment and torture by her owner, Lakhi the 60 year old blind elephant is finally on her way to a real home where she will be treated properly and live happily ever after. Lakhi is on her way to Elephant Conservation and Care Centre which is operated by UK charity Wildlife SOS in the city of Mathura India where she will have the company of several other elephants that have also been rescued.
