Livingstone Lodge Wins Gold for Aspinall Foundation
Directors at the Aspinall Foundation Howletts and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park are over the moon to win gold for The Best Tourism Experience in The Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2011. Livingstone Lodge, set within the confines of the Park, is the only authentic safari experience in the UK, offering visitors the chance to spend a night within the park surrounded by the amazing animals. Whilst staying at the Lodge, you can also sample some traditional African cuisine, as Zebra and wildebeest graze quietly in the background.

It’s an honour to win a gold award for Best Tourism Experience in The Beautiful South Awards for Excellence this year. It’s a credit to all the staff who work so hard to make this such an exceptional product. Livingstone Lodge is very popular because it is so authentic – it’s a window to Africa, a wonderful experience which underlines the importance of conservation. As you watch the wildebeest, rhino and giraffe wandering past the lodge you could imagine that you are in the heart of Africa.
Livingstone Lodge first opened it’s doors in 2007 and has one a whole host of awards, including England’s Best Tourism Experience in 2010, quite an accolade! The Lodge is the perfect place to stay for animal lovers who want to try something different. I certainly wouldn’t mind spending a weekend there and getting a chance to photograph all the beautiful wildlife that would literally be on the doorstep.
Chairman of Tourism South East, John Williams, said –
